Project Overview
Delivering a coordinated and constructible BIM model for this multi-level parking structure in Washington, DC required precise integration of structural systems, precast concrete components, and coordination workflows. Spanning approximately 185,000 sq. ft., the project involved structural BIM modeling, precast concrete detailing, and clash coordination using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
The structure included multiple parking levels, precast façade systems, ramp areas, and complex slab geometries that demanded accurate alignment between structural framing, panel layouts, and construction sequencing requirements. Through a coordinated BIM workflow, we improved model accuracy, minimized field coordination issues, and delivered build-ready BIM models that supported efficient fabrication and on-site execution.

Project Overview
| # | Challenge | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Coordination of precast façade panels with structural framing and slab edge conditions | Developed coordinated structural and precast BIM models to align panel systems accurately with structural geometry and support locations |
| 2 | Managing complex ramp transitions and varying slab elevations across parking levels | Created detailed BIM models with accurate level coordination to maintain continuity across ramps and floor transitions |
| 3 | Clash risks between precast elements, structural members, and embedded components | Performed clash detection and coordination reviews using Navisworks to identify and resolve conflicts before construction |
| 4 | Maintaining constructability and erection feasibility for precast systems | Optimized panel layouts, connection locations, and sequencing considerations to support smoother fabrication and installation workflows |
| 5 | Requirement for accurate, construction-ready structural BIM deliverables | Delivered coordinated BIM models with detailed structural and precast information suitable for coordination, detailing, and site execution |
