Project Overview
United-BIM provided MEP BIM modeling and coordination support for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility project in Indiana. The scope included HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, cleanroom-support areas, process utility corridors, equipment rooms, and service zones. The coordinated BIM model helped the project team identify system conflicts early, improve routing decisions, and support a more constructible layout for critical facility operations.

Project Overview
| # | Challenge | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dense MEP and utility routing created coordination challenges above production and cleanroom-support areas. | Developed detailed MEP BIM models with system-specific routing for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection services. |
| 2 | Critical spaces required better planning for maintenance access and equipment clearances. | Coordinated equipment rooms, utility corridors, and service zones with clearance requirements built into the model review process. |
| 3 | Multiple systems were competing for limited ceiling and shaft space. | Performed clash detection to identify conflicts between ductwork, piping, cable trays, fire protection lines, and structural elements |
| 4 | The project team needed better visibility into system layouts before field installation. | Created coordinated 3D views and discipline-specific model exports to support review meetings and installation planning. |
| 5 | Accuracy was important because pharmaceutical facilities require tight coordination between building systems and operational areas. | Maintained a controlled model workflow with regular updates, clash reports, and coordination inputs from project stakeholders. |
