Electrical Trade Coordination with Structural Trade for Installation of a New Emergency Generator at the International Airport

  • Project name : Our Goal was to Coordinate the Electrical Equipment and Components with the Steel Structural Components.
  • CLIENT : An Integrated Architecture, Engineering and Construction Firm
  • INDUSTRY : A/E/C - Architecture/Engineering/Construction
  • SERVICES : Electrical LOD 400 Modeling, Clash Detection and Coordination
  • TOOLS : Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD

ABOUT PROJECT

The project was about the Installation of a new 1250 KW Emergency Generation at the International Airport and the client required to effectively coordinate Electrical Trade Components with Steel Structural Discipline.

  • The Client -An integrated AEC firm based in Manchester, CT
  • Client's Requirements - LOD 400 Modeling, Electrical Trade Clash Detection, and Coordination
  • Project Deliverables- All model deliverables were handed over in .RVT, .PDF, .DWG and .NWD, .NWF, and .NWC format.
  • Deliverable Requirements- LOD 400 Modeling, Clash Detection, and Electrical Coordination

PROJECT BRIEF

Our client wanted us to effectively coordinate electrical equipment and components like Generator, Switch Bank, Load Bank, etc. with Structural Components like Metal Deck, Flange, Bolt.

  • Our Clash detection services and coordination services led to design changes in electrical equipment placement and joint connection.
  • We took part in three meetings with project teams - Electrical General Contractor (Our client), Shop drawings contractor, Airport Authority/Resident Engineer (end-client) and structural design team member.
  • Project Duration: 2 weeks
